'‘As a child, I coveted beauty soaps, sample size lipsticks, perfumes, and face creams. These treasures were given to me by doting friends of my grandparents, on my summer vacations to Germany. They were dermatologists in the cosmetic trade, and any ‘kaffeeklatsch’ at their home always included delicious pastries and more of these treats.”
